2 Men Assaulted, Robbed Outside Of Store In Ventura; Suspects At Large

VENTURA (CBSLA.com) — Detectives sought the public's help on Wednesday to locate two suspects who assaulted and robbed two men in Ventura.

Shortly after midnight, officers received a 911 call from a victim who claimed to have been stabbed, according to the Ventura Police Department.

Upon their arrival, authorities located two Ventura men in the area of Main and Laurel streets.

Paramedics transported one of the victims to the Ventura County Medical Center for treatment of a serious, but non-life threatening stab wound.

The second victim was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

A preliminary investigation revealed the two victims were leaving a Circle K store when two male suspects confronted them.

The suspects demanded money and property before they began to attack the victims. One of the victims was stabbed during the attack.

Police said the suspects then fled from the area in a red sedan with property from one of the victims.

Officers searched the area, however, they were unable to locate the suspects.

Detectives described the first suspect as a Caucasian or Hispanic man who is in his late 20s. He was last seen wearing a dark shit and shorts.

The second suspect was described as a Caucasian man who is also in his 20s. He was last seen wearing a black sweater with blue jeans.

The investigation is ongoing.
