The laser, according to deputies, had been pointed at a chopper about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday as it was taking part in a training exercise.

“During the training, the sheriff’s helicopter flight crew told patrol deputies that a laser had been pointed at the helicopter from the ground,” the LASD said in a statement.
