Pedestrian, 23, Killed By Motorist In Moreno Valley

MORENO VALLEY (CBSLA.com)   —  Authorities said a 23-year-old pedestrian was fatally struck by a motorist in Moreno Valley Saturday evening.

The victim has been identified as Moreno Valley resident Erick Torres, according to the coroner's office.

The driver was westbound on Alessandro Boulevard when he struck Torres, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department and the coroner's office.

Officers from the Moreno Valley Police Department were dispatched to the location, west of Lasselle Street, at 8:55 p.m.

Torres was rushed to Riverside County Regional Medical Center. He died from his injuries at 9:52 p.m. Saturday, according to the coroner.

The motorist stayed at the scene and was cooperative with authorities, according to the Sheriff's Department. It was not immediately known if the motorist was cited or arrested.
