Homicide Detectives Investigate Shooting Death Of Man In Gardena

GARDENA (CBSLA.com) — Homicide detectives investigated the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a man on Friday.

Shortly after midnight, deputies were sent to the 14400 block of South Loness Avenue for report of a shooting.

Upon their arrival, authorities located an adult man lying inside the doorway of the home, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds to his upper torso.

Paramedics transported the victim to a hospital where he later died. His identity is being withheld pending family notification.

No other occupants were inside the home.

A witness reported a vehicle was heard speeding away following the gunfire.

The investigation is ongoing.
