Traffic Delays Continue As Vice Pres. Joe Biden Wraps Up LA Visit

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Vice President Joe Biden is scheduled to leave the Southland on Thursday and travel to San Francisco.

On Wednesday, Biden spoke with employees at Bobrick Washroom Equipment, located on Tujunga Avenue in North Hollywood, about raising the minimum wage.

County supervisors voted in favor of an ordinance on Tuesday to raise the minimum wage in unincorporated areas to $15 per hour by 2020.

During his speech, he praised Mayor Eric Garcetti and County Supervisor Sheila Kuehl for their leadership to push through wage increases.

According to the White House, Biden also attended a fundraiser at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, which benefited the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee.

Officers advised the public to avoid the following areas today as motorists could experience traffic delays:

— Wilshire Boulevard between Santa Monica Boulevard and Beverly Drive will remain closed from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

— Santa Monica between Sawtelle and Wilshire boulevards will be shut down from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

— Sepulveda between Lincoln and Wilshire boulevards will remain closed from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

— The southbound lanes of Rodeo Drive and El Camino Drive from Wilshire Boulevard will remain closed until 11 a.m.

The vice president has been in Los Angeles since Tuesday night.
