Fans Advised To Arrive Early To Rose Bowl For Sold-Out FC Barcelona-Galaxy Game

PASADENA (CBSLA.com) — Crews Tuesday worked to put the final touches on the Rose Bowl Stadium in preparation for tonight's FC Barcelona-Los Angeles Galaxy game.

The International Champions Cup is a 10-team tournament made up of three Major League Soccer teams, Mexico's Club America and six European teams.

Tonight's game will be the fourth played in 11 days for the Galaxy. Both teams will be without key players in the match-up.

FC Barcelona's Lionel Messi, three-time winner of FIFA Ballon d'Or and world's best male player, Brazilian forward Neymar and right back Dani Alves have been excused from tonight's game because they played in the recent Copa America.

The Galaxy will be without goalkeeper Jamie Penedo, forwards Alan Gordon and Gyasi Zardes, and defender Omar Gonzalez who are playing in the CONCACAF Gold Cup.

At 2 p.m., stadium lots will open to the public. Authorities said tailgating will be permitted before the start of the game.

Stadium officials advised fans to arrive before 5 p.m. to the Rose Bowl for the sold out game.

Those who arrive before 5 p.m. will be charged $15 to park. Anyone who enters the stadium after this time will be charged $30 per vehicle.

Fans who carpool with four or more people will be charged $15 to park.

Officials also advised temporary road closures and no parking areas will be in effect.

However, adjacent off-site parking will be available in the Parsons Engineering parking lot located on Fair Oaks Avenue and Walnut Street. A free shuttle bus service will begin running at 3 p.m. for fans before, during and after the game.

Kick-off will begin at 8 p.m. this evening.

About 90,000 fans are expected to attend the game.
