Decomposed Remains Of Missing 25-Year-Old Fontana Man Found In Landers

FONTANA (CBSLA.com)  —  The remains of a Fontana man reported missing earlier this month have been found in Landers.

The remains of Andrew Salazar, 25, were found west of State Route 247 and north of Napa Street and positively identified Thursday.

Salazar's whereabouts had been unknown since July 4.

Salazar's family filed a missing persons report with the Morongo Basin Sheriff's station about five days later.

The severely decomposed body of a man was found around 10:20 a.m. Wednesday.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death. The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information should contact Sheriff's Homicide Detective Mike Walker at (909)387-3589.
