Southland Residents Brace For Summer Storms

GLENDORA (CBSLA.com) — Muggy and humid conditions continue Wednesday amid heat wave conditions in the Southland.

CBS2's Jasmine Viel reported a summer storm system is moving at 35 miles-per-hour with a chance of rain and activity expected to happen throughout the day.

Residents in Glendora reported scattered showers throughout the early morning hours.

In Yucca Valley, large lightning strikes were also reported.

On Tuesday, officials closed down several L.A. County beaches as thunder storms and gusty winds approached the shoreline.

Dust storms in San Bernardino and Riverside also decreased visibility for residents in the area.

According to the National Weather Service, scattered showers and thunderstorms will move across Southern California throughout the morning.

Gusty winds and cloud to ground lightning will be possible throughout the day.
