Police Carry Out Bizarre Raccoon Rescue In Simi Valley

SIMI VALLEY (CBSLA.com) — A woman in Simi Valley was stunned when she went outside and saw her car was surrounded by a gaze of raccoons.

She called police around midnight Tuesday and they soon realized the reason for the ruckus - the pack was missing a member.

Apparently, a "watermelon-sized" raccoon had become trapped inside the car.

Officers spent an hour coaxing the scared animal out.

The little guy eventually wedged himself free, eliciting a shriek from the woman standing nearby.

By the point, his friends had already fled.
