Couple Killed In 2-Car Crash In Arleta

ARLETA (CBSLA.com)  —  Two people were killed in a two-vehicle crash in Arleta Saturday evening.

The driver of a 1999 Chevy Astro Van, who was identified as Arsen Panasian, 41, of Van Nuys, was driving westbound on Branford Street when he collided with a Toyota Camry, carrying the two deceased individuals.

The victims were identified as husband and wife Alfred and Alma Chacon, 62 and 61.

The crash was reported around 9 p.m. on Saturday.

LAFD responded to the scene and attempted to administer life-saving medical treatment to the Chacons. However, they were unsuccessful.

Panasian was arrested due to circumstances surrounding the collission.

CBS2's Brittney Hopper reporting from the scene said that the driver of the second vehicle has been arrested under suspicion of driving under the influence.
