Public's Help Sought In Search For Missing Irvine Man

IRVINE (CBSLA.com) — Irvine police are seeking the public's help locating a 68-year-old local man missing for three days.

Lee Howard Whittenberg was last seen leaving his home at approximately 8:45 a.m. Wednesday.

He has no known money, credit cards, cell phone or vehicle in his possession, police say.

Whittenberg is described as a Caucasian male, standing 6-feet-3-inches and weighing 175 pounds, with gray hair and hazel eyes.

He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, dark brown cargo shorts, brown slip-on tennis shoes and a black baseball cap with a white logo. He has no known significant medical conditions and is mentally alert, police say.

Whittenberg is known to walk the trails along Hicks Canyon Bike Trail, the Portola Side Path Trail, along Portola Parkway, and near Northwood High School.
