GLENDALE (CBSLA.com) — Fire crews quickly gained the upper hand on  a small brush fire Thursday afternoon near Glendale Community College, authorities said.

Los Angeles County firefighters along with Glendale city crews were on scene at the roughly 3-acre blaze near the Glendale (2) Freeway and Mountain Street, according to officials.

Officials had the fire about 30 percent contained by 3:20 p.m., authorities said.

Mountain Street was closed between the Glendale (2) Freeway and Verdugo Road.

No structures were threatened and no evacuations have been ordered, according to city officials.
