Man Fatally Shot Inside Commercial Building In Van Nuys

VAN NUYS (CBSLA.com) — Homicide detectives Tuesday investigated the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a man in Van Nuys.

Around 11:45 p.m. on Monday, officers were sent to an commercial building located in the 14500 block of Keswick Street for reports of shots fired, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Upon their arrival, police located a male gunshot victim inside the building.

Paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene. His identity is being withheld pending family notification.

Authorities subsequently blocked traffic in the immediate area during their investigation.

A preliminary investigation revealed an employee of the company may have reported the incident to authorities.

The building is believed to be home to a marble and tile business.

At this time, no description of a suspect has been provided.

Detectives said the incident is being treated as a crime, and does not appear to be self-inflicted.
