Enrique Iglesias Slices Hand Open Trying To Catch Flying Drone During Concert In Mexico

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) - Singer Enrique Iglesias reportedly sliced his hand open trying to catch a flying drone during a concert in Tijuana.

The heartthrob -- who turned 40 earlier this month -- was flown to Los Angeles for treatment.

Several celebrity websites reported that the accident happened Saturday night, as Iglesias sang before a crowd of 12,000 at the Bullring at Playas de
Tijuana.

E! and TMZ.com posted photos of Iglesias finishing the concert holding a bloody rag.

The remote-controlled helicopter carries a video camera that is projected onto a screen at Iglesias' concerts, and he has been known to catch it while singing.

TMZ.com reported that Iglesias left the stage for 10-15 minutes, finished his set in a bloody shirt, then departed for a Los Angeles hospital in an airplane from the Tijuana airport.

Iglesias, an international star as singer and actor, is known for chart-topping hits like "Escape," "Bailando," "Bailamos," "Do You Know?" and "Hero."

Iglesias has won a ton of awards including 16 Billboard Music Awards and 36 Billboard Latin Music Awards. He's also won six American Music Awards, one Grammy, four Latin Grammys and 10World Music Awards.

On Sunday, "Team Enrique" wrote on his official site, "Thank you to all the fans for your concern and good wishes. Enrique is getting the help he needs and we hope he will be totally fine. Will keep you posted and appreciate all your wishes and prayers."
