Beloved Softball Player Dies After Suffering Brain Aneurysm, Family Says
FONTANA (CBSLA.com) — The family of Dana Housley says the softball player has died days after suffering a brain aneurysm.
Housley had just finished her freshman year at Etiwanda High School in Rancho Cucamonga and collapsed Saturday during a softball tournament.
Her family said the high school student had been placed on life support because she was unable to breathe on her own and didn't have brain activity.
On Wednesday, her family announced her death, and thanked those who offered support.
"The tremendous national and international outpouring of love and support for our daughter and our family during this devastating ordeal is appreciated beyond words," they said in a statement posted to a GoFundMe page.
