Man Fatally Stabbed At Panorama City Bus Stop

PANORAMA CITY (CBSLA.com) — Detectives searched for leads Tuesday in the stabbing death of a 40-year-old man at a Panorama City bus stop.

Around 10:50 p.m. on Monday, officers were called to a bus stop located at the corner of Van Nuys Boulevard and Nordhoff Street for a report of an "ambulance stabbing," according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

When police arrived, they found Pablo Martinez suffering from multiple stab wounds to his chest area while lying on the sidewalk next to the bus stop. Before he died, Martinez was able to give police his name and age, but could not tell the officers who or why anyone would want to kill him.

Martinez, who police said appeared to be a day laborer, was taken to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Police say they have yet to find his family to notify them of his death.

Detectives described the suspects as two Hispanic men who are approximately 20 years old.

Officers are canvassing the area looking for surveillance cameras that might have captured images of the killers.

Anyone with additional information regarding this case can contact the Los Angeles Police Department's Mission Homicide Detectives at (818) 838-9810 or (818) 838-9800.
