Local Students To Unveil Mural Of Murdered Journalist Daniel Pearl

LAKE BALBOA (CBSLA.com) — Four local students are set to unveil a mural of late journalist and musician Daniel Pearl, who was kidnapped and murdered in Pakistan in 2002.

The Lake Balboa Neighborhood Council chose four students from Daniel Pearl Magnet High School to create the mural, using an image of Pearl, on Haskell Avenue near Victory Boulevard.

The students, all from the Los Angeles Unified School District, are Megan Ford, Sheena Gonzalez, Dianne Villata and Jennifer Sahakian.

The Daniel Pearl Foundation was creating by Pearl's loved ones after his death in 2002.

The mural was set to be unveiled at 3 p.m.
