LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Officials are hoping to stop a growing worldwide epidemic of child sex trafficking from taking more victims in Los Angeles.

Authorities unveiled the “Don’t Be Silent” campaign Friday at Union Station to help the public spot and report suspicious activity.

They say pimps recruit girls as young as 10 old L.A. County streets. It happens at all hours and in public places, such as train and bus stations.

The campaign includes ads on Metro buses and rail cars, as well as 85,000 brochures with information on how to help victims.
