Chef Sharone Hakman Shares Dishes For Memorial Day Weekend

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — Chef Sharone Hakman stopped by KCAL9 Friday to share some great dishes to make just in time for Memorial Day Weekend.

Hakman, of Haks BBQ Sauce, recommended the following dishes.

  • Hak's Caribbean Jerk Shrimp Tacos: 1 pound of peeled shrimp, 1 Hak's Paks Carribbean Jerk One Pot Cooking Sauce, 1 tablespoon Barlean's coconut oil, 8 tortillas, 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro, 2 radishes, and shaved red cabbage.
    • Heat a medium sauce pan on high and add the oil in. Then sauté the shrimp on both sides until they are pink. Add in the Caribbean Jerk Sauce, and let it simmer for about five minutes. Spoon the shrimp onto the tortilla, add salt to taste, and garnish with the cilantro, radish and cabbage.
  • Summer Refreshing Spritzer: 1 bottle of barefoot refresh, 1 watermelon, 1 bunch of sweet basil leaves, 1 lime, and ice.
    • In a large carafe muddle, add the chopped watermelon with a handful of sweet basil leaves. Then pour in the bottle of Barefoot Refresh, and mix well. Fill up the cups with ice, and pour the cocktail in, then garnish with a lime rind, watermelon slice and basil leaves.
