LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Police Monday were investigating the fatal shooting in South Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles Police Department responded around 12:30 a.m. to East 42nd Street near Avalon Boulevard.

A wounded man was transported to a local hospital where he later died.

The suspect remained at large.
