Vehicle Shears Hydrant In Lynwood

LYNWOOD (CBSLA.com) — Gallons of water gushed onto a Lynwood street Friday evening after a vehicle crashed into a fire hydrant.

Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel were called to Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and Bullis Road around 7:20 p.m.

SKY9 was overhead, watching as water shot 50-100 feet in the air.

Department of Water and Power personnel were able to shut the water off by 8:30 p.m.

It was not immediately clear what caused the crash or how much water was lost.
