JURUPA VALLEY (CBSLA.com) — An elderly Jurupa Valley woman was killed Thursday morning when a fire swept through her home, authorities said.

Crews responded to the blaze around 6:47 a.m. along the 6300 block of Jade Street, according to Riverside County Fire spokeswoman Jody Hagemann.

The victim was not immediately identified.

The fire was contained with minutes, but damage to the home is believed to be around $25,000, Hagemann said.

A cause was not immediately known.
