Arraignment Postponed For Compton Dentist Accused Of Molesting 2 Underage Patients

COMPTON (CBSLA.com) — A 51-year-old dentist who allegedly molested two of his underage patients appeared in court on Monday.

Dr. Mohammed Kader, of Cypress, was supposed to enter a plea, however, his arraignment has been postponed.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, Kader was arrested at his place of employment, Compton Family Dentistry, on Thursday.

Deputies said two female minors, ages 12 and 17, told their parents they were seated in examination chairs when Kader kissed them on the lips during separate occasions.

The victim's parents reported the alleged incidents to authorities, and explained the children were alone in the room with him at the time.

Officials explained Kader has been practicing at Compton Family Dentistry for the past two years. He was employed from 2009 to 2013 at Western Dental and Brighten Dental Offices in San Bernardino County.

He was subsequently arrested for lewd acts with a minor and annoying/molesting a minor, deputies said.

Kader was held on $120,000. He posted bail, and was released from custody on Saturday.

According to officials, Kader is expected to appear back in court on May 19.

Authorities believe there may be additional victims.

Anyone with additional information is asked to call the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Special Victims Bureau at (877) 710-5273.
