Motorcyclist Takes Fatal Plunge Down Embankment In Los Angeles National Forest

MOUNT WILSON (CBSLA.com)   —  Authorities are investigating a fatal crash of a motorcyclist in the Los Angeles National Forest near Mt. Wilson.

The deceased was identified as William Adkins, 23, of Woodland Hills.

Officials said he was traveling east on a 2003 Suzuki Dual Sport around 12:20 p.m. Sunday when he veered off the road for an unknown reason and plunged down a 100-foot embankment.

Adkins crashed near the Mt. Waterman ski area, about 20 miles east of the Mount Wilson junction, according to the CHP.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The CHP said neither alcohol nor drugs were believed to have been factors in the crash.
