Garden Grove Man Arrested In Hit-And-Run Collision

GARDEN GROVE (CBSLA.com) — Police Thursday announced the arrest of a 30-year-old man who allegedly struck a pedestrian with his vehicle.

On Monday, officers were sent to the area of Benton Street and Garden Grove Boulevard for report of a collision involving a pedestrian, according to the Garden Grove Police Department.

Paramedics transported the victim to UCIMI for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. The victim's condition remains unknown at this time.

Police explained the driver fled from the scene on foot.

Surveillance video captured the suspect vehicle, a white Ford Excursion, pulling into the parking lot of a 7-Eleven convenience store.

Detectives explained the suspect was seen purchasing an alcoholic beverage before he left the area and headed towards where the collision occurred.

Julie Andis reported the vehicle stolen on Wednesday, and went to speak with police alongside her boyfriend, Aaron Moreland.

Authorities interviewed Andis and Moreland. Based on evidence, Moreland was subsequently arrested for felony hit-and-run, and leaving the scene of an injury collision.

He remains in custody at the Garden Grove Police Department.
