LANCASTER (CBSLA.com) — A 62-year-old woman remained in custody Friday on suspicion of committing identity theft over the course of several years.
According to Lancaster Sheriff Station detectives, Katherine Gonsalves was arrested Wednesday on multiple charges of identity theft, which occurred between 2012 and March 18.READ MORE: Irvine Man, 67, Killed In Solo-Vehicle Crash In Tustin
Officials explained Gonsalves is accused of using about 74 different aliases in addition to impersonating representatives for fake companies in an attempt to organize fraudulent fundraising events.

Gonsalves is being held on Federal Probation violations, deputies explained.
