WEST HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — Several busy thoroughfares in West Hollywood will be shut down when the Sunset Strip Half-Marathon winds through the city Sunday.

Sunday's Sunset Strip Half-Marathon will prompt the closure of half a dozen streets between 6:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. to both traffic and parking.

The following streets will be closed:

  • Sunset Boulevard (which will be closed through LAPD territory to La Brea Avenue) between North Havenhurst Drive and Doheny Drive
  • North San Vicente Boulevard between Sunset and Beverly boulevards
  • Santa Monica Boulevard between Robertson and La Brea Avenue
  • Melrose Avenue between Robertson and La Cienega boulevards
  • Beverly Boulevard between La Cienega and Doheny Drive
  • La Cienega Boulevard between Melrose Avenue and Beverly

Parking will not be allowed along the race course. "No parking" signs will be posted before the event, and vehicles in violation will be ticketed and towed at the owner's expense, sheriff's officials said.

Visit the marathon's website for more street closure information or follow the West Hollywood Sheriff's Station on Twitter at @WHDLASD for up-to-date street information.
