Culver City Man Suspected Of Raping Girl With Autism Who Was Missing For Nearly 3 Weeks

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A Culver City man was arrested early Tuesday morning on suspicion of raping a 15-year-old girl with autism who went missing last month.

Samuel Robert Duran Jr., 33, was booked on suspicion of multiple counts of rape and is being held on $8 million bail, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

"At this time, detectives are still investigating the circumstances of how Duran and the victim met," according to an LAPD statement.

The teen went missing March 24 from her home in the 11200 block of Westminster Avenue in Mar Vista, and police had sought the public's help in finding her. She was found Monday, and several people were detained by LAPD detectives as part of their investigation.

Anyone with information on the case can call the LAPD Pacific Area Sexual Assault Unit at (310) 482-6313 or (877) LAPD-247 (5273-247).
