Woman Busted For Selling Heroin In Murrieta Park Near Elementary School

MURRIETA (CBSLA.com)  —  Authorities have announced the arrest of a woman for selling heroin in a park next to an elementary school in Murrieta.

Cassie Griffing, 22, of Murrieta, was arrested on Friday at Vintage Reserve Park, adjacent to Buchanan Elementary and near her home on Temple Court, police said.

Since March, Murrieta police had been investigating a heroin dealer and on Friday were given a warrant allowing them to search Griffing's home in the 40000 block of Temple Court.

Griffing was arrested before the search warrant was served, police said.

Several grams of heroin were found on her, police said, and 1.5 ounces of heroin were found in her home, along with evidence of drug sales. Police said they also found almost $1,000.

Griffing was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance for sale. Bail was set at $50,000.
