'Locals Only' Coachella Tickets Go On Sale Today

INDIAN WELLS (CBSLA.com) — Music lovers desperate to attend the sold-out Coachella music festival better find a Coachella Valley-based friend immediately, as concert organizers are setting aside 1,000 passes for local residents only.

People will be allowed to line up, starting at 3 p.m., at the festival box office at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden box office to score at maximum of two of the 1,000 passes that have been reserved for residents of the Coachella Valley. The tickets, for the first weekend that starts Friday, are being sold at $375 each.

Sales will begin at 5 p.m. and continue until 10 p.m., or while supplies last.

Each of the wristband passes, which are non-transferable, will be placed on the wrist at the time of purchase.

Coachella Valley residents must show proof of residency with a government-issued identification, and guests must be present at the time of purchase.

To qualify, purchasers must live in the following zip codes: 92201, 92202, 92203, 92210, 92211, 92230, 92234, 92236, 92240, 92241, 92253, 92254, 92255, 92258, 92260, 92261, 92264, 92270, 92274, 92275, 92276 and 92292.
