BURBANK (CBSLA.com) — If skipping a meal seems tough, imagine fasting for nearly two months.

A man in Burbank has pledged to fast 55 days, while living in a glass box, to mark the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.

Agasi Vartanyan is a descendant of survivors.

In 1915, an estimated one to 1.5 million Armenians were killed by the Turkish Ottoman government. Turkey refuses to acknowledge their deaths as a genocide.
