NORTH LAS VEGAS (AP) — Police say authorities in two states are looking for a couple and five children who left a North Las Vegas home where a 3-year-old girl was found dead and a 4-month-old girl was so neglected that she’s hospitalized in critical condition.

Officer Aaron Patty said Friday that investigators think Kellie Phillips, 38, and Jondrew Lachaux, 39, may be in the Los Angeles or Oakland areas if they aren’t in Nevada.

Patty says Phillips and Lachaux are sought for questioning about leaving Phillips’ 17-year-old daughter at the house several weeks or months ago.

The 17-year-old was taken into custody Wednesday and is being held as a juvenile on child-abuse allegations.

Police say the teen is the mother of the hospitalized child and sister of the dead child.
