LAPD: Busboy Sexually Assaulted Transgender Woman At Popular Hollywood Sports Bar

HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — A transgender woman is among three women who reported they were fondled at a popular Hollywood sports bar when a busboy touched them inappropriately, police said.

The women say the incident occurred at a Big Wangs restaurant on Cahuenga Boulevard near Sunset Boulevard.

"He locked the door behind me, so when he was behind me, he lifted my dress right away, and started just fondling with me and stuff like that," accuser Joanna Crosby said. "And I go 'Wait a minute, wait a minute, what's going on here?' "

Crosby says she escaped by fighting back and throwing her arms around, causing a lot of bruising.

"I thought my life was in danger; he could have killed me," Crosby said.

The LAPD confirmed that three sexual-battery cases occurred in a locked bathroom at that Big Wangs restaurant. The suspect is identified only as a one-time busboy.

Police say all the appropriate information has been transferred to the City Attorney's Office. The announcement of whether enough evidence exists to prosecute is expected in the coming days.

Big Wangs management commented that they are aware of the three sexual attacks involving three victims and that the busboy in question has been fired.

Crosby says she was able to escape because she is stronger than he was.

"I am a transgender woman, so I was born with strength," Crosby said. "Now, if I was a legit woman, he would have raped me."

Crosby went on to say that when she reported the incident to the bar manager, she was met with laughter.

"They started laughing. Bawling-laughing. All I saw was arms going up and down," Crosby said.
