SUN VALLEY (CBSLA.com) — A person was in custody Friday after driving a vehicle off the Golden State (5) Freeway and slamming it into a motel in the San Fernando Valley.

The accident took place at 1:34 a.m. at the corner of Glenoaks and Roscoe Boulevards in Sun Valley, according to the California Highway Patrol.

It was unclear how or why the vehicle flew off the freeway. It slammed into a stairwell 10 feet in the air and then down to a motel room.

Four people were displaced.

No injuries were reported.
