LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A bomb squad Wednesday removed a suspicious package reported near the Federal Building in West Los Angeles, police said.
The item was found near Wilshire Boulevard and Veteran Avenue at 6:25 a.m., according to an LAPD spokesperson.
LAPD bomb squad officers were seen examining a car in a parking lot south of the building, according to KNX 1070’s Pete Demetriou. No explosives were found.
Police say the package was not on the Federal Building property.
Both the Wilshire Boulevard on-ramps and off-ramps off the 405 Freeway were closed during the investigation. The ramps reopened shortly after 7:45 a.m.
No further details were released.
