Port Hueneme Man, 30, Charged With Child-Porn Possession After 3-Month Investigation

OXNARD (CBSLA.com) — Oxnard police have arrested a 30-year-old Port Hueneme man on suspicion of possessing child pornography.

Officials said David Smith was arrested after a three-month investigation.

Investigators served a search warrant at Smith's residence in the 1100 block of North Fifth Place on Thursday.

During the subsequent search, Smith was identified as being in possession of child pornography as well as participating in the distribution of child porn, authorities said. He was arrested and booked into the Ventura County Jail with bail set at $50,000.

Investigators learned during the investigation that Smith is a registered sex offender. Smith's previous conviction was also for possession of child pornography.
