$50K Worth Of Gold, Cash Stolen From Multi-Platinum Songwriter's Hollywood Hills Home

HOLLYWOOD HILLS (CBSLA.com) — Officials Tuesday were searching for suspects responsible for stealing approximately $50,000 in gold and cash from a multi-platinum Grammy Award-winning songwriter.

Toby Gad's wife discovered a safe at their Hollywood Hills home in the 3500 block of Wonder View Drive was broken into around 4 p.m. Monday afternoon, officials said.

Gold, cash and other undisclosed items were taken from the house, which was in the middle of a remodel.

"We never thought a safe like that could be opened that easily. It looked like a very solid safe," Gad said. "Let's hope we find the people who did that."

A specialized safe investigations team was called to the scene.

Gad has written hit songs for artists such as Beyonce, Fergie and John Legend.
