Tense Woodland Hills Barricade Situation Ends After 4 Hours

WOODLAND HILLS (CBSLA.com) — A tense barricade situation in Woodland Hills Saturday kept police and SWAT teams busy for more than four hours.

Police were called to a home in the 6000 block of Crape Myrtle Court around 4:10 p.m.

The situation ended just after 8 p.m., police said.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers were initially sent to the home following a report of a man with mental illness.

Authorities believed the man was armed, however, it remains unclear if shots have been fired.

No injuries or evacuations have been reported but nearby residents were told to shelter in place or avoid the area.

No officers were injured in the incident.
