ANAHEIM (AP) — The Dalai Lama will celebrate his 80th birthday this summer in Southern California.

It will be part of a “Global Compassion Summit” that also includes two days of dialogues, panels and events at the University of California, Irvine.

The nonprofit foundation Friends of the Dalai Lama is presenting the event in partnership with the center and the university.
