ANAHEIM (CBSLA.com)   – Police in Anaheim say they fatally shot a woman who was accused of stabbing another female at a laundromat Sunday evening.

Authorities were called to the laundromat in the 900 block of South Euclid around 5:30 p.m. in response to a stabbing call.

Gordon Spencer reporting in Sky9 said one woman apparently stabbed another during an unprovoked altercation.

Police said the stabbing suspect fled to her apartment in an adjoining building in the 900 block of S. Roberts.

Officers said the woman refused to leave the premises. When she did exit, they said she was carrying two knives.

The suspect  was ordered to drop the knives and reportedly did not comply prompting the officer-involved shooting.

The woman was taken to a hospital. She was declared dead on arrival, police said.

The investigation into the shooting is on going.

Reporting for KCAL9's News at 10 p.m., Bobby Kaple said police have not yet released the woman's name or identity but described her as a woman in her 40s.

The did tell him the stabbing appeared to be an unprovoked attack.

Lt. Bob Dunn of the Anaheim Police Department said several officers were wearing body cameras.

He spoke to a neighbor who said the deceased had several issues in the past and had threatened him with a knife previously.

"She thought I was working with the FBI," said neighbor Gabriel Magdaleno, "and so the next day, I come out and she had broken my windows. She came at me one time with a knife."

The woman who was stabbed has non-life threatening injuries, Kaple reported.
