17-Year-Old Arrested For Alleged Assault During Oxnard House Party

OXNARD (CBSLA.com) — A 17-year-old was arrested Sunday for allegedly assaulting a male victim during a fight at a house party.

According to the Oxnard Police Department, officers were sent around 1:39 a.m., to a house party located in the 900 block of Ontario Street for report of a fight.

When they arrived, police located a male victim lying in the front yard of the home.

He was transported to the Ventura County Medical Center in grave condition; however, his status has since been downgraded to critical, but stable condition.

Officials said the victim's injuries are not considered to be life threatening at this time.

During a preliminary investigation, a witness revealed information to officers, which led to the arrest of a juvenile from Ventura. He was arrested for felony physical assault.

The investigation is ongoing.
