STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — The warm weather has kicked in and temperatures will pop up into the 80s Friday.

There’s a ridge of high pressure aloft and that, combined with a surface off-shore flow will keep temperatures well above average and possibly close to breaking a few records Friday.

Saturday’s records will be a little tougher to break; nevertheless, it’s a little taste of summer in winter for Southern California.

There will be some gusty winds below the passes and canyons, which is why a wind advisory has been issued.

Expect to see some slight cooling starting Monday, and then a little more for the middle of the week.

Right now the forecast models do not agree on the long range forecast — some bring showers to the area while others are saying dry. With the very dry air mass in place right now, it looks like it will be a drier forecast, but we’ll have to wait and see.
