OXNARD (CBSLA.com) — Authorities were dispatched to a shots fired call in Oxnard Saturday morning and located two victims after an investigation.

Officers said a 23-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman were struck by gun fire.
Two suspects, both Latinos in their 20s, were being sought. When last seen, both suspects were in dark clothing.READ MORE: LA County Sees Another 72 Deaths Related To COVID-19
The male victim was taken to St. John’s Hospital by family members. While there, officers learned a second victim, the 39-year-old female, was also being treated.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a confrontation developed between the suspects and the 23-year-old male. The suspects then shot at the male as he fled on foot. While shooting at the male, the female — who was walking in the vicinity — was struck by a stray bullet.
