Man Falls Over 100 Feet From Electrical Pole In Boyle Heights

BOYLE HEIGHTS (CBSLA.com) — A man in his early 40s was electrocuted Saturday after climbing on a power pole.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers were sent around 1:50 a.m. to the intersection of Marengo Street and North State Street for report of a man on a  electrical pole.

Police explained the man had begun to descend the pole, but then changed his mind and climbed back up again.

At one point, he touched a 360 volt line, and was thrown off the pole from force of the shock. The man struck a traffic light during his fall, about 150 feet off the ground.

The man was transported to USC Medical Center for treatment of injuries sustained in the incident. His condition remains unknown at this time.
