Emotional Vigil Held For Laguna Hills Woman Who Went Missing Morning After Valentine's

LAGUNA HILLS (CBSLA.com) —  An emotional vigil was held for a missing Laguna Hills woman who hasn't been seen or heard from since the morning following Valentine's night.

Hundreds huddled underneath a tent in Laguna Hills - as rain poured and tears flowed for 27-year old Erica Melissa Alonso.

KCAL9's Jeff Nguyen attended the candlelight vigil.

Since Alonso disappeared, her family has been vigilant -- they've been handing out flyers every day.

"I'm looking for my sister and I want her back safe," said Alonso's brother Isaac.

At this point, the Orange County Sheriff's Department says there have been no signs of foul play and they are treating this as a missing person's case with a high priority.

Alonso was last seen the morning following Valentine's night during a date with an ex-boyfriend -- who the sheriff's department says isn't a suspect. He reportedly told officials that he and Alonso had a fight in the early morning of February 15 and she stormed off.

Investigators have also contacted a couple -- who was seen with Alonso and the boyfriend before her disappearance and ruled them out as well.

The mayor of Laguna Hills attended the vigil because  he said Alonso went to high school with his son.

"With this kind of support, the word gets out there and somewhere, someone, will find her," said Dr. Dore Gilbert, Laguna Hills Mayor.

Domestic violence charges and a restraining order were recently filed against Alonso but they were both dropped.

Her family hope no one will hold her past against her.

"She's missing. She is not here. She could be in danger. She has a family and big group of friends. And a big community that is concerned and want her home," said sister Patricia.

Officials say Alonso was last seen in her 2014, white, four-door Honda Civic EX with a California license plate of 7FSS563.

There has been no activity on her bank accounts, credit cards, social media accounts or her phone, Nguyen reports.
