Police Hold Person Suspected Of Aiming Laser Burbank Police Helicopter, News Chopper
NORTH HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — Police have taken a person at a North Hollywood home into custody after they received a report that someone was pointing a green laser at aircraft, including a Burbank police helicopter.
Officers were notified shortly after 10 p.m. Friday and dispatched to the 6800 block of Bellingham Avenue, near the corner of Dehougne, Stu Mundel reported from SKY9.
Mundel and the SKY9 pilot noticed a laser was being intentionally directed at their helicopter from the home's front yard.
Portable pen lasers can temporarily blind or incapacitate pilots, making this kind of crime a felony.
