Corona Teacher, 55, Accused Of Inappropriate Touching Of Underage Female Student

CORONA (CBSLA.com)   —  The Corona Police Department has announced the arrest of a teacher for inappropriately touching an underage student.

Police said they were notified Thursday by administrators of the Corona Norco Unified School District that a teacher at Orange Elementary School behaved inappropriately with a student.

Shane Alan Kent, 55, of Corona has been identified as the teacher accused of the inappropriate touching of a female student.

Kent was arrested Friday for lewd or lascivious acts with a child under the age of 14. As a result of the investigation and Shane Kent's arrest, the Corona Norco Unified School District has placed Kent on administrative leave pending the results of an investigation.

Detectives believe there may be other victims.

Officials are asking for parents of students who attend or attended Orange Elementary School, to speak to their children about any inappropriate contact they may have had with Kent or any inappropriate behavior they may have witnessed.

Meanwhile, a Corona special education teacher who engaged in sex acts with five of her male students pleaded guilty Friday to felony charges.

Summer Michelle Hansen, 32, was arrested in June 2013. During a hearing at the Riverside Hall of Justice, Hansen admitted to 16  sex-related counts. She's scheduled to be sentenced April 3.
