Alleged Child Molestation Victim To Speak Out Against Stephen Collins In LA

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Attorney Gloria Allred announced on Thursday her client will speak out against actor Stephen Collins, detailing how he allegedly victimized her as a child.

However, around 11:20 a.m., Allred announced the conference was cancelled due to an emergency, and will not be rescheduled.

Allegations were made public in October 2014, when TMZ released audio recorded of Collins, 67, admitting to molesting three young children.

Faye Grant, who was his estranged wife at the time, said she secretly recorded the audio during a therapy session to prevent it from happening to other children.

In the recording, Collins admitted to the therapist that he molested two girls in New York, and one in Los Angeles.

Following the release of the audio recording, one of the alleged victims — who was 13-years-old when she was victimized — reported the incident to the Los Angeles Police Department, which was then passed along to the West Hollywood Sheriff's Department.

Detectives learned the encounter took place in the 1400 block of Hayvenhurst, where Collins lived at the time, during the summer of 1983. They investigated the allegation of indecent exposure and annoying or molesting a child in West Hollywood.

In December 2014, he released an exclusive statement to PEOPLE Magazine, admitting his inappropriate sexual contact with three young girls from 1973 to 1994.

The couple split in February 2012, after Grant became aware of Collins' alleged pedophilia.

In paperwork submitted with her divorce filing, Grant reported his confession to the New York Police Department, along with the LAPD.

In January, they finalized their divorce settlement, which ended the 27-year marriage.

Collins is best known for his starring role in the television series "7th Heaven" as a pastor.
