LONG BEACH (AP) — Corey Hawkins scored 26 points and UC Davis topped Long Beach State 65-58 on Thursday, reaching the 20-win plateau for the first time as a Division I member.

Long Beach State trailed 27-16 at intermission and by 18 in the second half, but used an 8-1 run to cut the deficit to six with 48 seconds left on Mike Caffey’s 3-pointer. But Caffey, McKay LaSalle and Deonte North all missed 3s in the last 30 seconds and UC Davis held on for the win.
