Sketch Of Man Connected To La Verne Double Murder To Be Handed Out To Public

POMONA (CBSLA.com) — Fliers with a composite drawing of a man believed to be involved in the Dec. 26 killings of a La Verne couple in their home will be distributed Friday.

The bodies of Shirley Isom, 74, and Armie "Troy" Isom, 89, were found by a groundskeeper at their sprawling 70-acre property in the 300 block of Roughrider Road around 1:25 p.m. the day after Christmas, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said.

The woman died of blunt force injuries, and her husband was apparently beaten and stabbed to death.

Investigators released a composite drawing in early January of a man seen walking in the area about the time the crime was discovered. The man, described as white or Hispanic and in his early 30s, was wearing a dark hooded jacket and wearing a large backpack.

On Friday between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., detectives and the FBI will hand out fliers to motorists along the 3100 block of North Garey Avenue, which is about a mile south of the crime scene. They will also hand out fliers to passengers of the San Bernardino Metrolink line, which is in the same general area.

The motive for the murders was unknown, detectives said.
